We started JIRO out of our steady love and curiosity for local communities!

Through our university experiences, we realized that if rural areas and local cultures disappear, the central cities won’t survive either.

That’s why we’re diving deep into what makes a region truly livable and meaningful — exploring what it means to create a place where people can actually thrive as people.

We visit local areas ourselves, seeking to understand them better and uncover new charms that might have been overlooked.

As university students and outsiders looking in, we hope that our perspective can become a fresh lens for discovering new charms and hidden strengths of these regions.
